We arrived in Freizing, outside of Munich and met up with Mike, Chase, and Cohen, who had just arrived and were adjusting to the new time zone. We went for a walk and found a nice spot on the river to soak our feet and the cousins showed off their rock skipping skills. Afterword we went to a beer garden for dinner and then back to our hotel for a good night’s sleep.

We drove our camper van a few hours from Munich, through Austria briefly, and into the Dolomite mountains in northern Italy. The campground was very nice, with a great restaurant with some of the best pasta we have had! The culture and architecture were an interesting blend of Italian and German / Austrian. The next day we took a cable car up to the top of the mountain from Passo Falzarego where we explored the trails at the top and the old tunnels from WWI.

We went for a nice hike from the bottom to a small alpine lake and the surrounding trails, which are all part of a massive ski area in the winter.

The last day in the Dolomites we went for a hike around the ski area near San Cassiano. We hiked up to a mountain hut that unfortunately was closed, but ended up at a pizzeria near the gondola where the girls had the best margarita pizza of their lives. We ended the day with a nice stroll through the quaint town of San Cassiano.
