Larimore Reunion in DC

July 4 – July 9

We arrived in Arlington, VA at our AirBnB and met up with Kevin’s family. His Dad Wally and step-mom Nancy live nearby in McLean, VA, his brother Steve and wife Daniela came from Germany (their kids couldn’t come because of travel restrictions), and his brother Mike, girlfriend Kathleen and kids Chase and Cohen came from Bedford, MA. Uncle Stu even flew out from Boise, ID to join the fun. We enjoyed some fun adventures, despite the heat and humidity, and we shared many laughs over dinner at the house each night.

On Independence Day we walked towards the Potomac River to find fireworks once it got dark.

We rode our bikes down to the National Mall to check out the monuments and grab some lunch from the local food trucks. The heat made it tough but we all persevered!

One morning, we headed out early and rented kayaks and canoes on the Potomac. We paddled from Fletcher’s cove under Chain Bridge and turned around below Great Falls. Some of us decided to beat the heat by jumping in the river, hoping that we wouldn’t regret it later since the river is not very clean at all.

We also ventured out of the area to Lake Anna. It was a nice state park with a big lake, beach, and picnic areas. Scout was happy to cool off in the lake and fetch her buoy.

Wally and Nancy recently moved into apartments with assisted living so we were all able to go check out their new place. We closed out a fun 5 days together with a big lunch at Pizzaria Orso in Falls Church.
